Child Care Benefits & Government Rebates
Child Care Benefit (CCB) and/or a Child Care Rebate (CCR) are subsidies provided by the Commonwealth Government to approved long day care services. These subsidies are provided to reduce the amount of out of pocket fees that families are required to pay to the early learning centre.
Child Care Benefit (CCB)
This subsidy is a percentage allocated by the Government to reduce the amount that parents are required to pay. Full fees will be charged if you do not have a current assessment.
Child Care Benefit has provisions made for absences such as sick days and holidays. These Allowable Absences are checked through an additional sign in book which needs to be completed each day your child attends.
Child Care Rebate (CCR)
Parents may also claim a 50% Child Care Tax Rebate capped at $7,500 a year. The Child Care Tax Rebate assists parents who are working, studying or training with their out of pocket preschool and child care costs.
To assist with the minimisation of your out of pocket costs, you can elect through Centrelink to have your CCR paid directly to the centre (instead of directly to you). This will minimise the gap fee that we charge you each week.
All families are encouraged to contact Centrelink on 136 150 or www.humanservices.gov.au to see if you are eligible for these rebates. If you are eligible, you will need to obtain a Customer Reference Number (CRN) prior to enrolling at Journey Early Learning. If you are already eligible and have a CRN, you will need to provide this to the centre at the time of enrolment.
